The Economist: Social Innovation - Let's hear those ideas
I was reading the latest article from the economist on Social Innovation. I feel it is very encouraging to see how there are more and more people talking about Social Innovation in new ways. This article is concentrated in two main concepts:
- The reasons why it makes sense for governments to become interested in Social Innovation
- Why it is ok to make money and do good at the same time
I feel these are the main two areas where there is a lot of public resistant in the Australian community and I hope that with increased examples of new models of social change that are financially sustainable, the governments also start looking into how new policies can facilitate the emergence of initiatives to address different social issues.
